Tour Itinerary
Thursday, August 24th: Depart Fort Wayne from the Meijer on Lima Rd and head to the Windy City of Chicago. You will have a guided tour of the city, then check in to your hotel for the night followed by dinner.
Friday, August 25th: Following breakfast, we head to the Wisconsin Dells. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a 1-hour cruise of the lower Dells and then have some free time in the area. Lodging for evening is in the Dells, along with dinner at a local restaurant.
Saturday, August 26th: After breakfast, we head west to Mitchell, SD where we will visit the amazing Corn Palace, before checking into our lodging for the night, followed by dinner.
Sunday, August 27th: Following breakfast, we keep going westward, traveling through the Badlands National Park with a stop at the visitor's center. We will be spending the night in the Rapid City area, where dinner also awaits.
Monday, August 28th: Have a hardy breakfast, because it's a busy day. Our guide will take you to Mt. Rushmore National Memorial to walk the President's Trail. Stop at the Crazy Horse Memorial and visit the Museum of the North American Indian. Then, we drive through Custer State Park to see all of the wildlife, as in a lot of buffalo. Return to your lodging to prepare for dinner and a night of rest.
Tuesday, August 29th: It's breakfast then another guided day of sights. We start with the Journey Museum to explore the heritage of the Black Hills region, followed by Black Hills Gold Factory, Historic Deadwood, and Mt. Moriah. You have dinner before returning to your lodging for another night of slumber.
Wednesday, August 30th: Check out is after breakfast, then we head back east. But, we will be stopping at Wall Drug where you can find everything! We will stop for the night and dinner in Sioux Falls, SD.
Thursday, August 31st: After breakfast, the journey home continues to our overnight destination of Davenport, IA. After dinner, try your luck at the riverfront casino!
Friday, September 1st: Breakfast, check out, then back home again to Indiana with a lot of memories and new friendships from your travel west.
